I love this place's "local secret vibe'; from the key to get in to the invite a friend card that allows one free entry. They make some awesome pancakes and potatoes, and the homefries are a sure fire side. All in all, a fun place for brunch it breakfast.

Best bakery ever. Even if you don't have time to sit down and enjoy a hearty breakfast, stop at their bakery counter. Outstanding scones and muffins. Perfect for a gift when visiting.

I had never heard about this place and I live within 8 miles. I looked up breakfast places on yelp, cause it's always fun to try new things....which led my husband and I to Fred's. Once there, we realized this is a member's only place which would be nice if that was clearly stated on YELP. I don't understand why a business would put themselves on Yelp to make new potential customers feel like outsiders? Tourist or not, as so many "natives" have stated, is quite ridiculous in this day and age when the economy is down and small business are fighting to survive.

Sssshhhh. We snuck into Fred's early one morning. We walked in after some other 'members' had opened the door. I hope Fred's owner doesn't mind. Forget about breakfasting anywhere else in Lambertville or New Hope. This is THE breakfast joint. An efficient, tight, well run operation. Good food, good service, and value for money: delicious bacon, eggs, thick buttery slices of toast and free-flowing coffee never tasted so good.

We thoroughly enjoy Fred's. It is friendly, fun and has excellent breakfast offerings. They made all of their own breads and pastries and besides being delicious, it is interesting to watch everything being kneaded and prepared for baking. They make a ham/cheese/egg pastry that is really tasty. We are appreciative of an intro to Fred's by friends within a year of moving to Bucks County. Weekdays are best in terms of waiting, but Fred's is worth the wait.

Excellent food; creative onsite baking; friendly and attentive service; family seating at the counter for interesting conversation (or not); and an excellent view of the Delaware River. Of course, there is a dog that howl's Happy Birthday. Fred's is an instant treasure.

Loved Fred's. Free coffee, reasonable prices, home made foods, and a great atmosphere.

Freds has a nice environment with friendly waiters and lots of pictures of adventures and dogs. You can tell lots of people love Freds. The food is worth the wait. I had great waffles and a muffin. It was off of the hook. Ask for it warmed up or warmed on the grill and waalah, amazing. The coffee is free. I would recommend this place highly! Also you do not want to go there if you have little time and it is in between the hours of 9 and the time they close, but if you have at least thirty minutes to wait and sit down then you can go around the time it closes. They open at 6 am.

It's the embodiment if what I love about being a New Hope local! Yeah we put up with summer and Christmas tourists but its a super friendly and diverse little town that is lucky to have Fred's to drop in for the wonderful fresh breakfasts, a few laughs with the neighbors and a cup of free coffee! How lucky we are!

secret breakfast place that is not the secret, but adds to the fun of it. free coffee, pleasant staff, decent prices, good food, lively atmosphere, mainly locals. everything i want in a local place in new hope :) decent bagels that are made on prem, good pastries, and all items on the menu are above average, you cannot go wrong with what you order. expect a wait after 8/9 timeframe, or almost anytime on weekends. always have parking available nearby.

Fred's is truly as good as it gets, when it comes to food. Their pancakes are the best I've ever had, and everything else is equally top notch. Homemade breads, free coffee and the friendliest staff ever round out this "members only" experience, but they're so nice inside, I doubt anyone would be excluded. Prepare for a wait, but don't worry - you'll have access to the coffee station. Did I mention their pancakes are worth the wait? Because they are. I love Fred's and will continue to come back again and again...!

Fred's is a comfortable and warm setting for breakfast where you'll feel both at home and like a VIP member of one of New Hope's best kept secrets. However due to the popularity, the secret is out and the place gets packed. Be early if you don't want to wait. The food is exceptional, all made from scratch, but big parties have forced me out of there on multiple occasions. I live down the street and frequent Fred's because of their great service and varietal menu. I am glad to see how much it has grown, but because they are limited to counter seating only (part of it's charm), party size needs to be regulated or better accommodated. Parties of 6 or 8 can jam up the wait list, when they should simply be divided into multiple smaller groups. The intimate waterfront setting is still worth the wait and the free, self-serve coffee is an appreciated addition for everyone, especially the locals! I recommend The Johnnie and all of their freshly baked breads and pastries.

I waited a full year to get a fob. I go yesterday and see an older couple stand at the door looking in, until someone opens the door for them. What's the point of calling this a breakfast club if anyone can walk in? Do not go on weekends. Waits of an hour, for eggs and toast? It's overall good. But a recent "donut day" Boston Cream was off - the donut felt oil soaked (from too low an oil temperature), the pastry cream was a bit curdled and under-sweetened, and the chocolate was bitter.

Ruth Anne behind the counter and Spencer at the door made our first trip to Fed's very nice. The egg sandwiches to go came with potatoes - and it was all very good fare. I had the homemade biscuit! Order the tomatoes on the side and you get fat slices of jerseys finest! Free coffee to go with the homemade turnovers and cinamon buns. Great place with great character. Go now!

I went to Fred's Breakfast when visiting some friends who are members and I was very impressed! I love the concept of needing to be a member to eat here as it makes it feel like a true community. The second you walk in you feel a very homey atmosphere and it also helped that it had a beautiful view of the river and it was snowing outside. Coming from California, I was in heaven. They offer free coffee in real mugs while you wait which adds to the home feel as well. Everyone is seated at a bar around the kitchen where they make the food. This allows the guests to talk with the workers as many of them have known each other for a long time. I've never had an experience like this and thought it was really unique. I ordered the two eggs special which came with toast and hashbrowns. The waitress recomended the walnut, cinnamon toast and it was absolutley heavenly. My friend got the banana pancakes which were really good as well! Apparently they are known for their pasteries and desserts such as their cinnabon but I opted not to order it with much regret. Overall, a very cool experience and I hope to come back when visiting my friends in Doylestown again.

There's no reason not to get a membership here, even if you only come once. The cinnamon buns and "while you wait" coffee make it all worthwhile.

Up until this past week I would say that Fred was just about one of my most favorites destinations in the world (or at least SE PA). Unfortunately this past Sunday we met a friend for breakfast at Fred's and were truly surprised and disappointed. We arrived at around 10 and the placed was as usual deservedly crowded. After finally getting a seat, we were rushed through breakfast by the food server and bus boy taking our plates away in a piece meal fashion (on a few occassions, prior to our being done with the food on the plate). At around 11:10 (breakfast is completed at 11) with seats to spare, the food server abruptly announced "folks, you gotta leave NOW, we need the seats. I guess she saw the shock on our face as she quickly and in a matter of fact manner pointed to the sign and said rule 17! She must have been having a bad day and was taking it out on happy people. Maybe she just wanted to go home. The management of Fred's should practice what they preach and tell food servers to be happy or go away.

If there's a better place for breakfast I haven't been there. All bread and pastries are baked there fresh each day (available for purchase as well). Chris & Ellen, the owners ate fantastic. Free coffee and talking to your neighbors at the counter is mandated. Counter space only. Tuesday is donut day (plain & cinnamon/sugar ones are served to order with the donut hole!), and Wednesday is breakfast burrito day. Weekdays often get crowded after 8am (especially if school is out) and weekends get nuts after 7:30. Parking can be tight but generally New Hope doesn't start enforcing meters until 10am. The tres leches cupcake is the crack cocaine of pastries!

This is the first place I think of when thinking of breakfast. Its fun, inviting and a great value. There is always plenty of free coffee (helps pass the time as your wait for the limited seating). Best time to go is early during the week of course. I haven't had a bad meal here but their specials are always the best - Wednesday is currently burrito and my 21 year old was challenged to finish it all. There is only counter seating - no tables - so if you don't like counter seating this is not the place for you.

This place is awesome. First when we walked in we didn't really know what to do. I figured it was a little different and didn't let that get to me. I found a woman working at the bakery and kindly asked how we do this. She explained it was a breakfast club and signed us in on the simple note pad at the front. We enjoyed free coffee when we waited for our seats. Once we figured it out I though the concept was really cool. I also took a minute to review the rules on the website. Definitely read them first. We will definitely be going back. It's 1 hour north of us and well worth the trip. My type of place.

Fred's is a good breakfast place. I think the one star rating from the yelp user who didn't even eat there is a bit unreasonable, but I understand that they are just posting their experience that day. I don't know why someone said it was member's only--maybe they actually thought that or perhaps they were feeling pretty good about themselves being 'members and all.' I believe the membership key fob is a cute gimmick, but you don't need to be a member to eat at Fred's. Yes, the door is locked, but there is also a door bell that you can ring to unlock the door. I can see how it could be frustrating if someone told you it's members only. They should go fly a kite though, because the staff at Fred's is very welcoming and I don't think they'd encourage that. The coffee at Fred's isn't "free" like one user commented: it's just free. It costs you zero dollars and zero cents. It's not the best coffee under the sun, but it's a nice touch. You can also make yourself a cup of tea if you're not a coffee drinker. It also costs you zero dollars. The wait at Fred's can be quite long, especially if you get there after 9. I think this is one of the biggest deterrents for me some days. If I get up early enough though, then it's an option. The prices at Fred's are very reasonable and the food is good. Breakfast for two often comes in at about 12-15 dollars including tax, and we leave with full stomachs. I just ate here again this morning and I enjoyed the friendly, busy atmosphere as well as my tasty albeit not so healthy breakfast.

Clearly I am in the minority here in saying that Fred's is not all that. Perhaps it's because no one in our family drinks coffee so we cant appreciate the free cup of Joe, which everyone seems to rave about. We have had a key since the first couple of weeks of Fred's existence and yet have only gone a half dozen times, each one hoping to "get" what it is that everyone else seems to love about the place, but without success. It is located in a funky space right along the Delaware River. As is the custom in New Hope where nothing takes advantage of the town's waterfront location, Fred's counter-only seats face inside and away from the water. Instead, the cooks and wait staff get the million dollar view. We just do not get that, but perhaps that contributes to their happiness so often cited in others' reviews. The pastries look decadent, but we are gluten free, so that doesnt do anything for us. Breakfast is basic oatmeal, eggs-and-bacon or pancakes fare. The whole vibe is elitist, "clubby" and oh-hi-air-kiss and I think that is at the core of what others love about it and we do not. So if you feel the need to "belong" to a clique, live in the New Hope area and dont mind a long wait most days, Fred's may be for you. If you want to get the same exact oatmeal for under a dollar, stay home and make it yourself in five minutes or less.

This is more of a warning than a review. Firstly full disclosure I didn't eat at this restaurant? Why not? Because this place is a members only restaurant. What does that mean? I honestly have no idea. All I know is when my husband and I tried to go in this morning we couldn't open the door. The people who came up behind us were able to with a wave of what I have come to find out is a coveted grey key fob given to locals that Fred's Breakfast deems worthy for membership. At the time I didn't see the waving of the key fob I just saw the door open so I walked in. The people with the magic fob then informed me it was members only. I thought they were kidding because I wasn't going golfing or into a fancy lounge at the airport I was walking into a breakfast joint in Pennsylvania to buy pancakes. Why would I need a membership for that? Turns out they weren't kidding so my husband and I left and spent our non-membership money elsewhere.

Definitely worth visiting. Not easy to find since there are no signs and it's hidden in the back of other businesses. The coffee and food is delicious. The Johnny thing is only made on weekends and sells out pretty quickly. I was glad to have had the chance to try it. The ham and cheese thing was also good as well as the tres leche cupcake. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Would definitely come back next time we're in New Hope.

Ohhhh what to say about Fred's...this place is a gem and I'm happy to be a member here. The staff makes it a point to get to know you and remember your name which I love. Try to go as early as possible to get a seat - don't worry, if there's a little line, you can always just fill up your coffee and people watch :) When it gets REALLY busy, we just fill up our travel mugs, grab some bagels and their delicious pastries and go along our merry way. First of all if you can get in, you don't need to read this review because you already know about the house made reads and sausage and the fresh delicious coffee. So this is for those who will try to get in to this breakfast club. The food is amazing and the wait is worth it because the coffee is on the house. I'm a fan and one time there and you will be too.

After we moved to New Hope, our neighbors gave us a key to Fred's as a housewarming gift. And what a gift it has been. Though it's always crowded, members and staff alike are always friendly. And there's unlimited free coffee while you wait. The sign above the open kitchen reads "If it isn't good for you it isn't worth eating". They mean it. The counter is covered with delicious and freshly baked pastries, cinnamon buns, muffins, bagels, and more. You can watch what's coming out of the oven next while you eat. If you're lucky enough to be there while someone is celebrating a birthday (or better yet - bring someone who is), you'll get to see Fred the dog howl while everyone sings happy birthday. It's a hysterical treat. I've ordered omelets, scrambled eggs, and breakfast burritos and have left satisfied each time. But what really makes Fred's stand out is the atmosphere and friendly company.

Do not waste your time! I live in New Hope and have tried Fred's four times. I'm very much aware of the ridiculous wait. After my last visit when I asked the 18 year old hostess why she crossed off my name when I have been checking in with her every few minutes. My children where sitting outside waiting the typical hour long wait. She cried. Mind you I have four children two which are teenagers. So I can assure you I was not rude. And I was a party of three that day. She composed herself she said she was upset because when she got to work her cell phone broke. She sat us the very next three seats that became available. We ordered. I got up to fetch my own coffee and this man came over to me in a very aggressive manner. He never introduced himself . Asked me why I made HIS employee cry! I explained what happened and he got into my face nose to nose very threating manner and tried to goat me into a confrontation. I know better then to engage with hostile people. I ignored him walked over to the cream and sugar counter where he followed me and continued to goat me. Yellling at me we don't do grumpy and to never come back to Fred's . I continued to ignore his hostile behavior and returned to my seat with my family who witnessed all of this. We ate left a tip because that is the type of person I am. As I sat and ate my breakfast I took note of things. The women washing the dishes does not wear gloves and she is in the soap sink and rinse sink up to her elbows. So you know that the standard requirements of 110 degree Fahrenheit to sanitize dishes is not happening. Other people lick their fingers to turn the order page and then handle your food. Other cooks and people cutting bagels wipe their nose with the back of their hands and continue to handle your food. I have made several attempts to contact the owner to discuss this mans behavior. I have been unsuccessful in reaching the owner. One time the very same hostile man who I encountered picked up the phone. I asked him if he was the owner he replied no and can I help you. When he realized it was me he was speaking too he said I'm going to hang up the phone and so he did. I will NEVER set foot in such an abusive, hostile, subpar , dirty ridiculous place again. All the other negative reviews are 100 percent accurate. I was foolish enough to go there not once but four times. Basically because my family and myself are dog loving friendly people.

My husband works in New Hope, and since we've been granted our membership to Fred's we've made it a regular before-work-visit every couple of weeks. Fred's has a great sense of humor AND a sense of community. Everyone is extremely friendly. It's a day perker. The food has always been delicious (house-baked goods! YES! veggie burrito Wednesday - YAY!) and it is also fairly priced. The coffee is free and never ending. There is also a lovely dog to get to say hello to. Location is cute, right on the river. Really worth scouting out a membership, or a friend who is a member to go with.

There are many reasons to give Fred's 5 stars, but the best reason is the unlimited FREE coffee. I have had the smoked salmon bagel, cheese omelet, eggs with hash browns and more. Everything is prepared fresh and right in front of your eyes. You will have a wait most of the time, unless you know the certain days/times when it is not so crowded, but I do not want to give away anything. The seating is such that it is very easy to strike up a conversation with your neighbor, the waitstaff is extremely friendly, and it is fun to feel like you are a member of a private club. I really love this place, and I love taking out-of-towners to our local hideaway!!!

You have to be a member in possession of the coveted "key fob" to open the door and eat at Fred's. You just have to know someone who already has the key to get you inside. Then you put your name on the list, and after waiting a prescribed 2 weeks....the key arrives and you become a member of the "exclusive" club! Pure marketing genius!!! The place is always packed. On the weekends you better set your alarm early. On the weekdays get there before 8 before all the local moms and New Hope idle rich hit Freds for apres gym. The food is basic breakfast diner fare. I'm a corned beef hash guy. Very heavy on the hash, too light on the corn and the beef. But the food is very good, and awesome within the context of the unique Fred's ambiance. Free self-serve coffee in the waiting area. Wood-burning pot belly stove on a snowy morning. Sleeping dogs (one of them is Fred) in the adjoining offiice. Most times i've been there the New Hope police chief was there on a corner stool. Everyone is a local. You sit at around a square bar, watch the cooks cook, and chat with your neighbors. Eat with local artists, your kid's friend's parents, a couple affluent gray-hairs in Obama/Biden shirts, the local mechanic, a random gay couple....a microcosm of this little town we love.

If you just want breakfast, there are many places in the area that will be able to satisfy your needs. However, if you want to go someplace that makes you feel warm and welcome (in spite of the "membership" rumor - I've never seen anyone turned away as long as they get there before 11 AM!) this is the best in New Hope. Owners Chris and Ellen always make my family feel like members of their family. Don't get me wrong, the food is great too. I love what they call the" vegetable thing" which is a puff pastry filled with perfectly seasoned roasted, you guessed it, vegetables, egg and cheese served with grilled tomatoes and home fries. My daughters usually get the french toast made with jumbo slices and topped with powered sugar. Some other stand outs include the homemade sausage patties and the "to die for" hand sliced cinnamon raisin bread. Just tell them "Wayne with the 3 adorable little girls" recommended you try Fred's and you can get UNLIMITED FREE COFFEE ! Note: On weekends it is best to get there early before the lines start to form. If you have to wait, grab a free bag of crumbs and feed the ducks on the side of the building down the stairs to the river.

I had the pleasure of being brought to Fred's by a member. What a great experience! From what I could gather, the namesake is the owner's Bernese Mountain dog. The member has a key/fob that gets them and guests in from 6 - 11am. You walk in, put your name on a list, and wait with your free cup(s) of coffee for a spot at the counter. Everyone is extremely friendly from fellow customers to the staff. I think that's because everyone at Fred's feels connected to something special and unique. I had the omelette du jour. It came off the grill without delay and was tasty. The juice was fresh. Basically, the food was typical diner food. When I'm back in town I would certainly come back...that is if a member would be so kind to share this gem with me again.

This is like the secret society of New Hope. You need to be a member to get in, with a magnetic key swipe... But once you are in you are in breakfast heaven. New Hope is full of tourist so this little spot is just for locals. And I think it's a brilliant idea. It's like Cheers, everyone knows your name. Well not mine, my Mom's the member. So everyone knows her name... Anyway besides the cool 007 membership, the food is great! The service is wonderful, they have a U shaped bar area so everyone is easy to reach and you get to watch the cooks as they prepaid your dish. Oh bottomless coffee. 6 stars right there.

Once upon a time, Fred's was good. It started as a "locals" only membership breakfast restaurant. However, the owners got greedy and let anyone within 100 miles become a member. Now, unless you arrive before 8:30 AM you will wait, and wait and wait.

As a member of the new hope community, I have been aware of the existance of this exclusive Breakfast club called Fred's. Kids in my school LOVE it, and my family also loves it too. I love the atmosphere. The diner-esque set up facing an open kitchen with an amazing view of the delaware behind you is just perfect. The issue I have is with the wait. I had to wait over 30 minutes, and some friends of mine were standing for over an hour. Luckily, members are welcomed to free coffee, which is a pretty good deal. I LOVE the bernese mountain dog theme, and seeing the great beast howling to Happy Birthday is a sight indeed. I just wish I had a tad more space, because I was sandwhiched next to people I didn't even know (which is pretty rare for New Hope).............I probabaly will venture back to this breakfast hot-spot, but not in the near future.

  • TootTootTootsie G.

We were taken here by friends who have a weekend house in New Hope, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to eat here, because the restaurant is for members only, although it is in no way as stuffy as you might expect from a place open only to members who need a key to let themselves in. Breakfast is served daily from 6:00 until 11:00am, and since there are only 31 seats, you need to get here early, a drawback for those who like to sleep late on the weekends. Since everyone is a regular, having breakfast here is like eating with a large group of friends who aren't concerned about calories or cholesterol, because everything on the menu is loaded with both. You'll find the usual menu items like omelets and pancakes and specialties like Southern-style sausage gravy and biscuits and creamed chipped beef on toast, both served with home fries. Coffee is free, although you need to serve yourself. Prices are reasonable, and you probably will leave so full you won't eat again until dinner.

how can you give breakfast with family less than 5 stars? free bottomless coffee and lots of friendly faces. try "the special", the homemade granola, or some of the fresh baked goods. i had the waffle with fruit, but that's what I was in the mood for today.

I checked the website for Fred's. It says that membership is closed and one must know a member to even visit. WT??? Then why is this place being reviewed if essentially nobody can go there since it is a club for members only, and membership is closed? One reviewer states that a prospective member must be a local resident. ? Why is this place on Yelp if membership is closed, and most , even most locals, cannot even visit?

I happened to stumble upon Fred's with my in-laws and fiancé. We arrived in New Hope pretty early and needed a place to grab a reasonable breakfast without the muss and fuss of an overpriced brunch like many of the other spots on Main Street. Cue Yelp to the rescue. What I didn't realize is that Fred's is supposedly a members only breakfast club? Ok? We were able to walk in, since someone opened the door for us (we clearly didn't have a key fob that you need to open the door being non-member peons). The sea of people waiting to be seated obviously was a good sign. So, we took our chances, put our name on the waiting list and grabbed a cup of coffee. My darling, Anthony, clearly blew up our non-member status when he asked where we pay for the coffee. Turns out it's free. Oopsies. Anyway, no harm done, the employees were all super friendly about it. We had a bit of a wait but I have to say it was worth it. I had the garden omelette (with egg whites) and got the side of grilled tomato rather than the home fries. (Trying to be healthy after a night of wine and Mexican food ..eek!) Everyone else also had some variety of eggs/potatoes which looked great. Stole some of the hubby's home fries and can confirm they were very good. I would also highly recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice. SO good. The counter only seating is a cool, no frills, concept. I also loved hearing their pooch howl as they sung happy birthday to a fellow member. Definitely a place I would recommend trying if you're looking for a low key breakfast experience with good food and reasonable prices. If you're looking for a stuffy brunch where you're going to pay 17 bucks for eggs benedict, this is not the place. But don't worry there are plenty on the main strip that will gladly take you're money. ;)

I have now been to Fred's 5 or 6 times... The make-yourself at home style self-service coffee is a feature (not a defect). The food is incredible - I recommend trying the grilled tomatoes instead of home fries - and try the sausage gravy on their fresh baked biscuits.

I was really hesitant in doing this review because I really didn't want anybody else to know about Fred's and I wanted to keep it a secret all to myself. I know I'm being a little selfish and all. First off Fred's is a members only breakfast club located in the cute town of new Hope Pennsylvania. I happened to be one of their lucky members. Woot woot To enter Fred's you must have a key card to unlock the door between the hours of 6 AM and 11 AM. If it's after 11 AM your out of luck the door automatically locks and too bad for you. I should warn you that Fred's has some rules. They don't do grumpy and there's a bucket outside the front door to deposit the grumpiness in before you enter so come and happy. You can fill your coffee for free and members are welcome to bring anyone to Fred's whom they wish. Fred's is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas eve and Christmas Day. Fred's is the place that you would have to know where to go to find it since there is no sign outside of their establishment. Shhhh it's a secret hidden gem and if you're lucky enough to dine here with the member well you're just lucky enough. Fred's has an amazing concept of a true dining experience, all the cooking and baking is done in the center with a counter that goes all the way around with 31 barstools. Yes that means only 31 people can't be seated and eating at the same time so take a seat by the front door after you put your name on the list when you come in next to the host and feel free to get yourself a cup of coffee while you wait with a smile on your face. Now on to the food. The food at Fred's is out of this world spectacular I just love breakfast and have fell in love with breakfast at Fred's. Everything is so fresh and tasty. The portions are large where I can only eat half of what they serve. Their eggs Benedict is a must try and don't forget to try their French toast. Yummy!!! You will definitely leave Fred's with a smile on your face and satisfied tummy and if you're not a member by the time you leave you'll have the urge to become one.

After having to wait for over an hour (even though we we told that the wait would be about 40 minutes), the food was mediocre at best. The waffle didn't look like it was freshly made, and tasted even worse. Since it looked like it was defrosted and barely heated, we asked to have it more crispy, to which we were told that it can't go back into the waffle iron (I doubt it even saw the waffle iron that day). Totally not worth the wait - I still cannot believe people are willing to stand around that long for sub-par food.

Best of the best. The hidden gem of new hope. Love the food here. If you are in the area stop in.

Ok stop the madness!! Why are people so obsessed with this place? Because it's a secret "club"? Ok ok, it's fun to pour yourself a cup of "free" coffee while you wait, but good luck getting to the coffee station while your bumping into and bouncing off of everyone on your way there. It's your basic breakfast food. I mean, it's good and the portions are pretty large, but I don't leave feeling the immense amount of love everyone else seems to. The biggest issue is that it is always soo packed. We used to go just because we lacked a breakfast place and it was so close, but so many times we have left and went to Dunkin donuts because of the ridiculous wait time.

Best restaurant in town. I stop in whenever I'm in the area visiting my parents. Its members only though! You literally need a key. All the bread and baked goods are made fresh daily and from scratch so don't go here if you're trying to stick to your diet!

apparently you have to be a member to eat here. They have a membership and a list of rules. Hmmmm.

Not even good food, not very clean. They don't even give you real chocolate milk... And the people that work there aren't very nice. Also, the fact that you have to have a membership to go to a crappy place like that puzzles me. It's really not all that special.

Since I have move to Stockton, I do not get here as much as I'd like too. However, I was greeted by the patrons and the staff as if I had been there only yesterday. I love the baked good and the menu selections, I have read some of the reviews that rated Fred's poorly, and all I can say is if you don't like the opportunity to put your I-phone down and talk to real people. Stay home! If you want gluten free, there are several other places that offer that. This is a place for locals and if you want to get in and get out go to McDonald's. The best part of living in a small community is the small businesses like Fred's, that give us the opportunity to visit with our neighbors.
